One of the most important aspects in understanding the biblical writers is that they believe that God's plan for the world is opposed by a spiritual being (understood in the Bible to be a fallen angel) and his followers (other fallen angels). At every turn in the biblical narrative these evil beings try to stop the forward progress of God's rule in the universe as King. Precisely because God is King, his purpose for the world moves forward.
The key verse in the Bible for Nothinsgonnastopit! is found in the Old Testament book of Isaiah where the prophet, speaking as a mouthpiece for God, says, "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please" (46.10). It becomes obvious to the reader, therefore, that the biblical writers affirm that nothing can stop the purposes of God.
